Many times we read an article and find that what we do at work is really a desired form of design activity. Being a Design Thinking Engineer we are involved in this type of quick presentation to colleagues, supervisors to sort of get an instant feedback on additional features which may be required. These quick sketches, CAD models, 80/20 prototypes help refine our ideas as we look at ways and means of implementing the suggestion. Many of our designs are for in house use to improve processes where the key is to be able to introduce the suggested approach in an existing process. Generally time is limited and limitations if any in the suggested approach can be found early enough to pursue alternative methods or parallel paths
Usually the reception from reviewers is positive to encourage us to go to the next level. Further having proclaimed our intentions we keep going forward and make it happen
