Adler, Deborah
Deborah Adler designed the ClearRx prescription medicine packaging system used by Target stores, the first major redesign of that type of packaging in the past 40 years.

In Glimmer: Adler tells the story of how her journey in design began when her grandmother became ill from accidentally taking her grandfather’s medicine—and Deborah set out to solve the problem. She has worked as a designer at Milton Glaser Inc. and recently launched her own independent design operation.
Currently working on: Adler is focused primarily on designing for healthcare needs. Her latest project involves the redesign of bandages used in hospitals.
Quote: “There’s a huge need and opportunity to bring clarity to the whole area of health care. Whether it’s the patient going into a pharmacy, or the nurse that has to apply a dressing, things are often made overly complicated. Not enough attention is being paid to the end user, and it really is affecting people’s lives.”
